From a digital design to a machined part on the workbench. At AMB 2026 in Stuttgart, Thomas Haurenherm introduces the TOPFAB TF500 in an interview with MTDCNC. The compact CNC machine combines simultaneous five-axis machining with AI-assisted preparation and automatic tool changing.

One focus is the workflow from design to machining. The software can generate a 3D model from a text description and supports automatic toolpath generation. The machine adds built-in calibration and automatic tool changing.
The desktop format is designed for settings such as development workshops, prototyping labs and training facilities that need to make parts in-house within a limited space. The TF500 supports a range of materials, including aluminium, wood and acrylic.
