On May 20, 2026, Shanghai Top Numerical Control Technology Co., Ltd. officially began trading on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange under the stock code 07688.HK.
The listing marks an important milestone in TOPNC’s development and creates a strong foundation for the company’s next phase of international growth. It also reflects the increasing strategic importance of advanced five-axis machining technology for the aviation, aerospace and high-end manufacturing industries.
A leading position in aerospace manufacturing
TOPNC specialises in the research, development and production of high-end five-axis CNC machine tools and intelligent manufacturing equipment.
According to the CIC Report referenced in the company’s listing prospectus, TOPNC ranked first in China’s aviation and aerospace five-axis CNC machine tool market in 2025. With a market share of 10 percent by revenue, the company held the leading position among domestic and international suppliers operating in this segment.
TOPNC equipment supports the production of highly complex and safety-critical components for commercial aircraft, aerospace engines and launch vehicles. The company’s technologies are used for applications including aircraft skin milling, structural component production, engine casings, combustion chambers, turbine components, rocket fuel tanks and cylindrical rocket sections.
TOPNC products have also contributed to major industrial programmes, including China’s C909 and C919 commercial aircraft programmes as well as the production of components for multiple launch vehicle series.
Technology developed for demanding applications
A strong focus on research and development has been a central part of TOPNC’s growth.
The company has established an R&D platform covering five core technological fields:
- Precision mechanical design and manufacturing processes
- Core component development
- CNC systems and intelligent measurement and control
- Process programming software
- AI-driven manufacturing technologies
At the time of the listing, TOPNC held more than 90 registered patents, with over 40 additional patent applications pending.
Among the company’s key developments are proprietary dual five-axis mirror milling systems. These machines are designed for the precision machining of large, thin-walled structures such as aircraft skins, rocket fuel tanks and integral tank components.
TOPNC has also advanced the use of carbon fiber reinforced polymer materials in machine-tool construction. Its large-span five-axis gantry machines use carbon fiber composite materials in moving components to reduce mass, improve dynamic performance and support high-speed, high-precision machining across large working areas.
These technologies are increasingly relevant not only for aviation and aerospace, but also for automotive manufacturing, shipbuilding, energy applications, medical equipment, die and mould production and other advanced industrial sectors.
Supporting the transition to commercial-scale production
The industrialisation of commercial aircraft and commercial spaceflight is creating new requirements for manufacturing companies and their technology partners.
Production systems must move beyond the successful completion of individual projects. They must deliver repeatable quality, stable processes, higher output and competitive manufacturing costs at commercial scale.
TOPNC Chairman Dr. Wang Yuhan described this transition as follows:
“China has entered a phase of commercial aircraft and commercial rocket industrialization. The core challenge is shifting from ‘completing national projects’ to ‘commercial-scale, low-cost, high-quality stable operations.’ TOPNC’s role is to provide the manufacturing infrastructure backbone.”
For TOPNC, this means developing manufacturing solutions that combine precision, productivity, process stability and scalability. Advanced machine tools form an essential part of this infrastructure, enabling manufacturers to produce increasingly complex components efficiently and reliably.
A new chapter for TOPNC
The listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange represents more than a financial milestone. It strengthens TOPNC’s visibility in international markets and supports the company’s long-term strategy of expanding its technology, production capabilities and global network.
Building on its position in China’s aviation and aerospace manufacturing sector, TOPNC will continue to develop advanced five-axis machining solutions for customers across a growing range of industries.
The company looks forward to working with international customers, technology partners and investors as it takes the next step in its global development.
